I agree that gourmand is going to the wayside and the replacements are mostly putrid to me. I find that the vendor wax companies are being swept away, as well. Not that I need any more....I have plenty, but I feel left out when the new candles come out. Great video, as always!
I'm open to all kinds of scents regardless of category as long as they're well-executed. Having said that, I feel like a lot of the fragrance oils used in candles, perfumes, and body care have decreased in quality in recent years. I'm not sure what has changed in the fragrance industry, but, as an ordinary consumer, I'm disappointed with the trend. I feel like it's getting more difficult to find products that I genuinely love. Happy Hanukkah was a rare exception and I'm glad I stocked up while it was available last year.
Why bath and bodyworks haven't hired you yet beats me. I mean the candles we would get would be packaged beautifully and the smells would be so fun. I laughed so hard when you said well she exist but beautiful packaging 😂😂😂😂
Congrats to the cherry lovers out there. This year is for you! 🍒 But yes, this year has been quite the snoozefest for me when it comes to B&BW. Only thing I'm looking forward to is what's to come for candle day... other than that, maybe 2025 will be the year of gourmands?? Ehh...
No kidding I told myself if lavender and pine bombed I was taking a hiatus and of course it just smells like fresh balsam and not like the original lavender and Pine they're practically giving their candles away lately and they didn't used to do this and the quality just isn't there
ALSO, if you don’t have a candle warmer, consider getting one. HH performs beautifully under my warmer, and I’ve melted it countless times. Haven’t even had to pour any wax out!
Thanks for the heads up on what's coming out and the review!! I got Calming Skies today and I'm burning it now....hmmm 🤔. It's a really nice scent, but it's definitely not a high throwing candle. For me, it's a light to medium throw 😢 . But so happy they brought back Feliz Navidad 💓 ☺️....love that one. I am still holding on to 1 from last year.
I am starting to think that BBW just buys up huge vats of scent oils and makes up "new" scents as they go in order to use up all of the oils. They no longer seem to care if it fits the line, or season, or if there are seventeen tweeked versions of the same scent. There are just so many similar scents lately.🤔 I guess micro tweeks are all we can expect these days. Thanks for sharing Kent! 😊
LOL I'm not sure that's how the purchasing process operates regarding fragrance oils, but I do believe the reason they tend to hover around the same fragrances is because a lot of the industry is trend-based, so they just try to capitalize on what's popular at the time, and ride that out until the next new thing becomes in.
I need Perfect in Pink. I love anything pink and Cherry-Almond is one of my favorite scents. I really wish I could just get the Jergen's Cherry Almond scent in a candle though. It's understandable that candles which just celebrate one specific religion's holiday, outside of the more widely celebrated Christmas, didn't do as well with the masses. Casual customers are only going to buy what represents their own celebrations while candle fans are open to buy all types of packaging, as we are interested in the actual scent. I'm Christian and I bought last year's Hanukkah candle because the scent was beautiful. They should still make them though, even if they have to in lower quantities to not have overstock.
That was my belief too. That Happy Hanukkah didn’t sell well last year because most regular candle shoppers saw the packaging and didn’t even smell it unless they were Jewish. If it had been packaged and marketed as something like “Jolly Jelly Donut” it would have sold like crazy.
Lolol lavender bloody metallic… laughing sooooo hard while on the elliptical at the gym 😂. You’re the freaking best!!! ❤❤❤ That jelly donut Happy Hanukkah was divineeee last year, hopefully they’ll bring that same version out again in the future. Something about the cinnamony spice with the warm chocolate in the Feliz Navidad candle became too much for me last year…loved it at first but meh too overwhelming after a few burns. Yess mine was sooty too.
I think this years Happy Hanukkah has a note that is slightly reminiscent to sweater weather, flannel, black tie, or some other breezy air or masculine leaning notes found in other BBW candles. I don’t tend to love that note. I’m burning it right now and hope more of the incense note comes through as it burns.
Happy Hanukkah: I believe like approx 90% of Americans celebrate Christmas. I think people outside the candle community didnt even stop, look, smell HH last year. Mainly because it was a "Hanukkah" candle. When the Joe Schmo candle buyer wants something to add to their Xmas decor their not going to gravitate towards a blue Hanukkah candle. So, the general public really missed out on a good one! I bet when repackaged under a different name it's sales are much better. Feliz Navidad: How do you go from that beautiful, elegant packaging last year to neon green jar with neon yellow wax?! Nothing says Feliz Navidad like neon yellow!?!? Gross.
I yelled “Noooooooooo!!!!” when you pulled out the Vanilla Bean Noel lol. Since it has the thick rope like wicks I wonder if it will perform better. Requesting for a review on that one please.
I’m wondering if people didn’t pickup Happy Hanukkah at Christmas time because it says Happy Hanukkah on it. They didn’t even bother to smell it because they wouldn’t likely buy it as a Christmas gift or or for home decor.
It totally is! As soon as I wrapped up filming, I was like darn it, I forgot to include that Cherry Blossom Soju fragrance. I guess that was a repackage of Tokyo Petals which was like 10 years before this whole cherry trend, that I don't batch them together for some reason.
I'm SUUUUPER bummed that they changed the scent of Happy Hanukkah! 😢😢😢 Ugh! I freaking LOVED that candle. And yes, where is Peppermint Sugar Cookie??? I don't like these "out there" scents they are doing.🙄
Last year’s Hanukkah candle smelled awful to me. I lean more towards organic modern and aromatherapy scents rather than gourmand. I think I’ll try this year’s version. Years ago I purchased a Myrrh candle and it is without a doubt the best candle ever.
That Lavender Peppermint has to be the most disappointing candle for me so far this year. On cold it smelled so great but burning it it turns to nothing. No throw whatsoever. I’ve gotten some dud candles in the last year but this is the biggest dud of them all. I already returned it it was so bad. Sad because that packaging is lovely.
"I don't know what I'm smelling here..." I LOL'd 😂
It happens to the best of us... 😵💫❤ Lol... (Especially with some candles. Haha!)
LOL I guess I can't complain about it not being NEW!
@@TheCandleChannelWhat you are smelling is (oddly) the inside of a Catholic Church on Christmas or Easter. 😂

This makes me glad I stockpiled Happy Hannakah of last year
Thanks Kent. Im a little bummed that they changed the Happy Hanukkah
Agreed. I'm way bummed! That scent was major! Thanks to Kent for putting me on. I bought 5 of them! 💙

I bought 4! Kept 2 happy Hannukah. Best candle !!
I need peppermint sugar cookie back! Ugh! B

Yeah, I'm pretty sick of them releasing cherry fragrances. Hoping for more gourmands in 2025 as well 🤞🏻
Same, Enough with the cherry already. Keep that in the spring and summer months.

@@thatdamnnyquilthe cherry scents make me feel like I need a Zofran STAT 🤮🤮🤮🤮🤮
Happy Kwanzaa smells AMAZING!
I really want some true gourmand land of sweet type scents for the holidays 🤞🏼
I’m excited for Feliz Navidad:) I’ll miss last year’s Happy Hanukkah candle.
Thanks for the info, love🍃🌸
Felix Navidad is truly great. It is a wonderful twist on a hot cocoa fragrance... like a hint of spiciness.
I'm sad about the Happy Hanukkah candle!! It was my favorite candle😭
I loved it too!
I still have 2 . Burn in my warmer. Lasts forever. Try the candlewarmer
A big regret of mine was not buying more that 7 Happy Hannukkah candles during SAS. I boderline want to snatch the one I gifted my sister🤣😆
Now that I'm realizing it's not coming back, I'm also regretting not stocking up while they were around 🥺
DO IT

I kept 2! I put it on a warmer and they last Soo much longer.
@@chelseacdI just said the same!!!! I bought 4. Gifted 2. Best candle ever. Which warmer do you use. It's also so much healthier too
Hahahahaha it’s BBW’s CONCEPTUAL era!!!!! I am so here for it 🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰

Oh no. I hope they bring back lavender vanilla because that’s the only lavender that makes me happy consistently.
The Champurrado last year was good! Gonna get another.

How are these holiday scents?
Kent I only use candle warmers. How do you feel about those?
I have them but never use them. I just don't care to have to dump out wax, etc. I buy a candle because I want to burn it!
Many scents are stronger on the warmer than burning them.
I’m beginning to think that B&BW only has “concepts of a plan” 🤣

I only have one peppermint sugar cookie in my stash so I guess it'll have to be a part of my decor instead of burning it
Ooo nice, did BBW send these to you? I don't think their in my stores yet. Great review. 💖
Ha nope! I went in the store and bought these myself.
